La periostitis tibial es una de las patologías más frecuentes en la carrera, cuya etiología
sigue siendo incierta. Esta lesión parece estar correlacionada con la modulación de las
cargas aplicadas al hueso y, en particular, por las fuerzas de reacción al suelo.
El objetivo del estudio es de comparar los efectos del entrenamiento en subidas con el
en terreno plano en la vuelta a la carrera en corredores de 18 a 65 años con periostitis.
Se llevará a cabo un ensayo clínico aleatorizado en el centro de rehabilitación "Caveirac
Kiné Sport" especializado en la rehabilitación de corredores. 40 corredores varones
diagnosticados de periostitis se dividirán aleatoriamente en dos grupos: el grupo control
(GC), que seguirá un programa de vuelta a la carrera en terreno plano, y el grupo
experimental (GE), que seguirá un programa de vuelta a la carrera en pendiente. Se
medirá el nivel de dolor en cada sesión (escala numérica), el tiempo de vuelta al
entrenamiento (días) y la adherencia al tratamiento (escala de Likert).
Las principales limitaciones de este estudio son: solo participan hombres (las mujeres
son un criterio de exclusión), la heterogeneidad de la práctica de los corredores (trail,
maratón…) y la larga duración del programa.

The tibial periostitis is one of the most frequent pathologies in running, which etiology
remains uncertain. This lesion seems to be correlated to the modulation of loads applied
to the bones and, specifically, through ground reaction forces.
The goal of the study is to compare the effects of training on slopes or flat ground during
the return to running in runners from 18 to 65 years old with periostitis.
A randomized clinical trial will be carried out in the physiotherapy center “Caveirac Kiné
Sport”, specialized in runners’ physiotherapy. 40 male runners diagnosed with periostitis
will be randomly assigned in two groups: the control group (GC), which will follow a
program of return to running on flat ground, and the experimental group (GE), which will
follow a program of return to running uphill. We will evaluate the pain level in each
session (numerical scale), the time to return to training (days) and the adhesion to the
treatment (Likert scale).
The main limitations of this study are: only men participate (women are an exclusion
criterion), the heterogeneity of the practice of the runners (trail, marathon,..) and the
program’s long duration.
