Estudi i proposta de millora del procés de producció de pastilles de fre de bicicleta

Abstract

Aquest projecte sorgeix del descobriment del baix rendiment i pèrdues del procés de fabricació de pastilles de fre orgàniques a Industrias Galfer S.A, i del seu origen principal en un pas concret del procés de producció: el preformat del material de fricció. La raó del baix rendiment es deu a que aquest és el segon pas en la producció de les pastilles i del qual deriven la majoria de problemes tant de parades com de retreball del procés global. Els objectius del projecte s’han centrat en la identificació dels majors focus de pèrdues del procés global per identificar punts d’oportunitat i millora. S’han trobat les solucions més adients amb eines de lean manufacturing, l’últim objectiu de les quals ha estat millorar la producció i el producte final. Un cop realitzat l’estudi global, per sol·licitud de l’empresa, els esforços del projecte s’han centrat en el procés de preformat, d’on s’ha pogut confirmar que deriven molts dels problemes en la producció de pastilles orgàniques tant de bicicleta com de moto. Per tal d’estudiar i millorar el procés de preformat, s’ha utilitzat el DMAIC, que és un eina de Six Sigma que s’utilitza pel control de producció estadístic, i s’ha combinat amb eines de lean manufacturing, descobrint així el món del Lean Six Sigma.

This project has its origins in the discovery of the low performance and losses of the manufacturing process of organic brake pads in Industrias Galfer S.A, and having as the main cause a specific step in the process: the friction material’s preforming. The reason for the low performance is that it is the second step in the braking pad production process, from which most of the issues of loss of time and reprocessing in the global production process comes. The goals of this project were focused on identifying the main waste origins of the global production process to identify opportunity and improvement spots and then improve them with lean manufacturing tools, with the ultimate goal of improving both the production and the final product. By request of the company, once the global study was finished, the efforts of the project were focused on the preforming process, since it was confirmed that most of the issues in the organic brake pads’ production come from there, not only for bicycle brake pads, but also motorbike brake pads. In order to study and improve the preforming process, DMAIC methodology was used, which is a Six Sigma tool for statistical process control. It was combined with lean manufacturing tools, discovering in that way the world of Lean Six Sigma.
