El mon de l’automoció està evolucionant a gran velocitat i la innovació de nous components per a vehicles que puguin captar l’atenció de potencials clients continua sent un dels trets més importants. Malgrat la incertesa que viu actualment el sector i les discrepàncies entre les grans marques de com han de ser interfícies de comunicació amb l’usuari i conductor, s’ha decidit dur a terme la realització d’una botonera tàctil amb feedback pel control de les diferents funcions d’il·luminació exterior d’un vehicle, així com facilitar també l’activació de desentelar la lluna davantera i posterior.
El projecte s’inicia amb una pluja d’idees i benchmarking d’interfícies de comunicació que es troben als interiors dels vehicles actuals. Analitzats prop de trenta vehicles, es decideix dur a terme la creació d’una interfície tàctil amb l’afegit d’un motor de vibració a l’interior, per tal de proporcionar feedback a l’usuari, degut principalment a les crítiques dels panells tàctils existents al grup Volkswagen pel control dels llums exteriors del vehicle, sobretot per la manca de feedback i la seva localització, obligant a desviar l’atenció de la via de circulació.
Desmuntats i estudiats els diferents components tàctils que es poden trobar al mercat d’automoció actualment, es realitza un disseny de la interfície del panell tàctil i la distribució dels diferents botons tàctils. Posteriorment, es procedeix a crear les diferents peces internes que completarien tot el conjunt, com ara el panell tàctil, la carcassa, entre d’altres. Fet el disseny i la integració del motor de vibració, s’aconsegueix la primera impressió 3D de prova del sistema.
Realitzades petites modificacions, la impressió de dos panells tàctils definitius amb els materials i acabats superficials definitius es va portar a terme. Paral·lelament, s’inicia el disseny de dos suports per tal de poder mostrar la interfície tàctil dissenyada a clients. Rebuts els suports, es procedeix a validar el conjunt final.
Es dur a terme un seguit de tests per avaluar que tot el mecanisme mecànic i electrònic funcionin correctament una vegada han estat assemblats. S’evita així, possibles futurs problemes de vibracions no desitjades i errors de disseny.
El resultat final ha estat la creació d’un prototip tàctil amb feedback pel control dels llums exteriors i funcions de desentelar els vidres del vehicle, el qual amb petites modificacions es podria incorporar a qualsevol vehicle nou que hagués de sortir al mercat.^^^^

The automotive sector is progressing at giant steps and the innovation of new components for brand new vehicles is still one of the key points for grabbing the attention of potential customers. Despite the uncertainty of the sector and the discrepancy of the different automotive brands on how all the human-machine-interfaces in a vehicle should be, it has been decided to create a touch interface with feedback for controlling all the exterior lighting and turning on/off the windshield defrost function.
The project starts with a brainstorming and a benchmarking of different interior vehicle interfaces that can be found in the actual vehicles. Once analysed more than thirty vehicles, it is decided to start designing a touch interface with the add-on of a vibration motor inside, so that it will provide feedback to the user. The add-on of feedback will try to minimize the criticism on the existing touch panels that can be found on the new Volkswagen Group vehicles for controlling the exterior lighting of the vehicle, where this added value lacks, causing the driver to deviate the attention from the road to locate the buttons for controlling the lighting of the vehicle.
Once analysed and disassembled different touch components from the automotive market, a design of the touch panel interface and the distribution of all the buttons starts. Afterwards, the different parts of the assembly are created, such as the touch panel, the housing, etc. Once the design and the vibration motor integration are done, the first 3D printing is carried out to check that all the parts are correct.
After analysing the validation 3D printing and redesigning some details that were wrong, the final prototypes with an adequate material and proper finishing are sent to print. At the same time, the design of two supports is started, so that the touch interface for controlling the lighting of the car can be shown to clients. Once the supports are received, the final validation is initiated.
Final tests are carried out to assess that the whole assembly of the mechanic mechanism and electronic components work properly once they are assembled. Therefore, further undesired vibrations caused by the vibration motor will not occur and possible design errors.
The final result has been the creation of a touch interface prototype with feedback for controlling the exterior lighting and defrost functions of a vehicle. Besides, just with slight modifications it could be incorporated in a brand-new vehicle that could be sold in the market.^^^^
