La prevalencia de las heridas crónicas en los países desarrollados es de entre el 1 y el 2 por ciento, desprendiéndose un coste elevado de la atención de éstas para los presupuestos en salud, y afectando la calidad de vida del paciente.
El objetivo general es valorar la eficacia de los métodos de desbridamiento en el lecho de la herida ya que es una técnica fundamental para permitir una correcta evolución hacia la cicatrización de ésta. Los objetivos específicos son: medir las áreas de las heridas en diferentes momentos del tratamiento, valorar la eficacia de los diferentes tipos de desbridamiento y sus combinaciones, y medir cuánto tiempo necesita el desbridamiento para retirar el tejido desvitalizado del lecho de la herida.
Se realizó un estudio observacional prospectivo cuya muestra eran pacientes con heridas que presentaban tejido desvitalizado que acudieron a la Unidad de Clínica de heridas del Hospital Universitario de la Santa Creu, en un periodo de tres meses.
Los resultados que se obtuvieron permitieron valorar positivamente la eficacia de las diferentes técnicas de desbridamiento y sus diferentes combinaciones. Permitiendo discutir y concluir sobre el tiempo necesario para retirar el tejido desvitalizado, exceptuando la biopelícula, así como afirmar que el desbridamiento fomenta la correcta evolución de la herida hacia la cicatrización.^^^^

The prevalence of chronic wounds in developed countries is between 1 and 2 percent, resulting in a high cost of care for these for health budgets, and affecting the quality of life of the patient.
The general objective is to assess the effectiveness of debridement methods in the wound bed since it is a fundamental technique to allow a correct evolution towards healing of the wound. The specific objectives are to measure the areas of the wounds at different times of treatment, to assess the effectiveness of the different types of debridement and their combinations, and to measure how long debridement takes to remove devitalized tissue from the wound bed.
A prospective observational study was carried out whose sample consisted of patients with wounds that presented devitalized tissue who attended the Wound Clinic Unit of the Santa Creu University Hospital, over a period of three months.
The results obtained made it possible to positively assess the efficacy of the different debridement techniques and their different combinations. Allowing to discuss and conclude the time necessary to remove the devitalized tissue, except for the biofilm, as well as affirming that debridement promotes the correct evolution of the wound towards healing.^^^^
