This research analyses the benefits of using songs for teaching vocabulary in EFL classes in Early Childhood Education. Thirty-two students between five and six years old received four 45-minute sessions based on different musical activities. Eight songs were created and recorded for the present study. Children’s receptive and productive vocabulary acquisition was assessed through a pre-test, a post-test, and a delayed post-test two weeks later. The results of this study seem to provide evidence on the potential of songs when teaching EFL to young learners. However, some key aspects should be taken into consideration while implementing this type of activities.^^^^
