The aim of this study is to test the effectiveness of Nordic walking (NW), as a therapeutic exercise treatment, in patients with fibromyalgia, in terms of functioning and disability.
The study is an experimental pilot study of the randomized, longitudinal, prospective, quantitative, and blinded clinical trial type. It will take place in the city of Vic, through its CAPs, and following the criteria of inclusion and exclusion, two groups of 16 participants aged between 20 and 60 diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome will be formed. One group will receive a Nordic walking treatment and the other group will receive a treatment based on a exercise program based on a full-body routine. Data will be obtained using the following instruments and tests: EVA, Algometer, Modified Borg Scale, FIQ Scale, and SF-36 Health Survey Questionnaire.
Covid-19 with its respective and consequent confinements, a poorly executed or erroneous diagnosis when examining potential fibromyalgic patients and a low or no adherence to the study intervention by the participants, are the limitations that this research faces.^^^^
