Experiències i procés de dol en les infermeres d’unitats de cures pal·liatives pediàtriques. Revisió bibliogràfica.

Abstract

Introducció : La mort pediàtrica és un esdeveniment particularment difícil d’afrontar i d’acceptar no només per a la família, sinó també per a les infermeres, ja que els nens representen el futur. La cura dels nens en procés de final de vida és una experiència delicada i impactant, perquè genera en les infermeres sentiments negatius, desgast professional i necessitat de distanciar-se per controlar l’estrès, dificultant així la presa de decisions, l’acompanyament i la comunicació amb la família en dol. Objectius : Analitzar les experiències i el procés de dol en les infermeres d’unitats de cures pal·liatives pediàtriques. Metodologia : Es realitza una revisió bibliogràfica en les bases de dades Medline, Pubmed, Lilacs, Web of Science, Scopus, Cinahl, Cuiden i Google Scholar. Limitant la cerca entre 2016 i 2021. Resultats: S’identifiquen 6 categories emergents, les quals son : la mort d’un nen, sentiments de les infermeres davant la mort pediàtrica, dificultats en l’atenció pal·liativa pediàtrica, falta de formació i educació i, estratègies d’afrontament. Conclusions: S’obté que les infermeres que atenen nens en procés de final de vida, requereixen d’uns coneixements suficients i d’unes habilitats específiques que els hi permeti manejar adequadament el procés de mort i dol, oferir un major suport a la família, garantir la pròpia integritat física i psicosocial i, així promoure la seva salut emocional i satisfacció laboral.

Introduction: The pediatric death it is a particularly difficult event to face and accept not only for the family but also for the nurses, because children represent the future. Caring for children at the end of life is a delicate and shocking experience because it generates negative feelings in nurses, professional wear and tear, and needs to distance themselves to control stress, thus making it difficult to take decisions, to support and communicate with the grieving family. Objective: Analyze the experiences and grieving process in nurses in pediatric palliative care units. Methods: It realizes a bibliographic search in the databases Medline, Pubmed, Lilacs, Web of Science, Scopus, Cinahl, Cuiden i Google Scholar. Limiting the search between 2016 and 2021. Results: Are identified 6 emerging categories, which are: the death of child, nurses’ feelings about pediatric death, difficulties in pediatric palliative care and coping strategies. Conclusions: It is achieved that nurses who care for children in the end of life, require a sufficient knowledge and specific skills which will allow them to properly manage the process of death and grieving, provide a greater support to the family, ensure their own physical and psychological integrity, and thus promote their emotional health and job satisfaction.
