Projecte de formació per introduir les teràpies complementàries en les cures d'infermeria de pacients oncològics pediàtrics: reflexologia podal

Abstract

Els nens i els adolescents poden ser diagnosticats de càncer infantil i això provoca que hagin de rebre tractaments que poden ocasionar efectes secundaris, els quals poden produir una disminució de la qualitat de vida. Per reduir aquestes conseqüències ha augmentat l’interès per les teràpies complementàries, la reflexologia podal es podria utilitzar amb aquesta finalitat, ja que s’ha demostrat la seva eficàcia. L’objectiu d’aquest treball és dissenyar un projecte formatiu destinat a infermeres amb la finalitat que puguin aplicar la reflexologia podal en aquests nens. Per tant, el disseny que hem desenvolupat és l’elaboració d’aquest projecte i l’àmbit d’estudi són els infermers dels diferents serveis d’oncologia infantil. S’avaluarà el projecte formatiu, l’aprenentatge adquirit, i l’eficàcia d’aquesta teràpia per augmentar la qualitat de vida dels nens en tractament. S’utilitzaran diferents qüestionaris com a instruments de mesura i s’analitzaran els resultats de l’aprenentatge de les infermeres sobre reflexologia podal i els resultats sobre la percepció de la qualitat de vida dels nens que se’ls aplica aquesta teràpia, els quals seran comparats amb els resultats del mateix qüestionari d’un grup control. Les possibles limitacions del projecte serien la no col·laboració dels diferents hospitals, la falta d’adhesió a la formació, la impossibilitat de formar a totes les infermeres i la negació de participar en l’estudi.

Children and adolescents can be diagnosed with childhood cancer and this causes that they have to receive treatments which may produce secondary effects, which can lead to a decrease in the quality of life. To reduce these consequences, interest in complementary therapies has increased, foot reflexology could be used for this purpose since its efficiency has been evidenced. The objective of this project is to design a training project for nurses in order to be able to apply foot reflexology in these children. So, the design that has been developed is the elaboration of a project and the field of study are the nurses of the different pediatric oncology services. The training project, the learning acquired and the efficiency of foot reflexology to increase the life quality of the children in treatment will be evaluated. Different questionnaires will be used as measuring instruments and the results of the nursing's learning on pediatric reflexology and the results in the perception of the quality of life of the children that are applied to this therapy will be analyzed. These results will be compared to the results of the same questionnaire from a control group. The possible limitations of the study are the lack of collaboration of the different hospitals, the absence of adherence in the training, the impossibility to train all the nurses and the denial of participating in the study.
