Disseny d'un programa de Teràpia Ocupacional a la llar per infants amb paràlisi cerebral espàstica unilateral

Abstract

Objectiu de l’estudi: Valorar l’efectivitat d’un programa d’intervenció a la llar per millorar la funcionalitat, i augmentar l’autonomia i la independència en l’acompliment d’Activitats de la Vida Diària d’infants d’entre 6-12 anys, amb diagnòstic de Paràlisi Cerebral Espàstica Unilateral (PCEU). Metodologia: L’estudi es realitzarà amb la col·laboració de l’Hospital de la Vall d’Hebron (Barcelona), d’on s’extraurà la mostra. Es requerirà una mostra aproximada de 42 participants per desenvolupar la investigació. El disseny d’aquest, serà un assaig clínic aleatoritzat. La intervenció es portarà a terme a la llar dels participants, i tindrà una durada de 6 mesos. Els blocs de treball inclouen: Potenciació de components del desenvolupament (sensoriomotors, cognitius i psicosocials), enriquiment i adaptació de l’entorn, i educació als pares. Per mesurar les variables principals d’estudi, s’utilitzaran els següents instruments de valoració: PEDI-CAT, QUEST, PEM-CY, PSI-4-SF. Limitacions: L’estudi pot presentar diverses limitacions, com pot ser a l’hora de reclutar la mostra necessària, o com en la interrupció de la continuïtat per part d’algunes famílies. Aim of the study: To evaluate the effectivity of an Occupational Therapy Home-based Program to improve the functionality and to increase the autonomy and independence in Activities of Daily Living in infants between 6 and 12 years old, diagnosed with Unilateral Spastic Cerebral Palsy (USCP). Methodology: The study will be carried out in collaboration with the Vall d’Hebron Hospital (Barcelona), where the sample will be obtained. To develop the investigation, it will be required a sample of 42 participants approximately. The design of the study will consist in a randomised clinical trial. The intervention will take place at participants’ home, and it will last 6 months. The intervention will focus on working on development components (sensorimotor, cognitive, psychosocial), environment enrichment and adaptation, and parents’ education. To measure the different main variables, it will make use of the following assessments: PEDI-CAT, QUEST, PEM-CY, PSI-4-SF. Limitations: The study can have possible limitations, as at the time of recruiting the necessary sample, or as the interruption of continuation, by the families.
