Quines són les idees intuïtives dels alumnes de 6è respecte a la diversitat de llavors en relació a aspectes de la selecció natural i l’evolució?

Abstract

Aquest treball presenta una investigació sobre algunes de les idees intuïtives que tenen els alumnes de 6è vers aquest tema de la diversitat de les llavors i en relació a aspectes de la selecció natural i l’evolució. Malgrat que aquests aspectes no es consideren al nostre currículum, diversos estudis assenyalen que és important i possible començar a treballar aquests conceptes amb els alumnes més petits. Diversos autors diuen que el fet de que els alumnes puguin pensar, reflexionar i després intentar representar les seves hipòtesis, en referència als aspectes explorats en aquest treball, n’afavoreix el seu aprenentatge posterior. Molts estudis també assenyalen les idees intuïtives que sorgeixen davant aspectes referents a la selecció natural i l’evolució mostrant, per exemple, que els aprenents pensen que els membres d’una espècie tenen una naturalesa interior que determina l’aparença i el comportament extern dels organismes.El meu treball es situa dins del paradigma interpretatiu. Per obtenir les dades he plantejant una investigació interpretativa/qualitativa basada en grups focals a 30 alumnes de 6è per a la realització d’entrevistes semiestructurades. Els resultats mostren algunes idees que tenen els alumnes en relació als temes estudiats i que poden servir com a punt de partida per treballar aquests temes a l’aula. Les dades mostren que a molts alumnes els costa molt explicar aspectes com, per exemple, l’herència en relació a la diversitat de les llavors. D’acord amb la literatura existent el tipus de respostes de l’alumnat s’engloben, de manera general en un marc de raonament essencialista.

This project presents the research about some intuitive ideas that 6th primary pupils have related to seeds diversity and the natural selection and its evolution. Although some of these aspects are not included in the curriculum, studies confirm that it is possible and important to star working these concepts when pupils are young. Some authors explain that to give children the possibility to think and later on, try to represent their hypothesis about this topic; it favours the process of learning. Other studies, also, point out that the intuitive ideas that pupils have related to the natural selection and the evolution, show for example that students think members from one species have an inside nature that determines the appearance and the external organism behaviour. My exercise it is also related to the interpretative paradigm. To get the information I have raised an interpretative / qualitative investigation based on groups from 30 pupils from 6th of primary to develop the semi-structured interviews. The results show some ideas students have related to the topics studied and can be used as a starting point to work on this unit in class. The data shows that some pupils have to do a big effort to explain some aspects as the inheritance in relation to the diversity of the seeds. According to the existing literature, the types of students’ responses are included, in a general way, in an essentialist rationale.
