Vocabulary and Grammar acquisition through storytelling and using CLIL in early childhood education

Abstract

La societat en la que vivim està sotmesa a un conjunt de canvis constants que alhora ens porten cap a noves maneres de fer i veure les coses. Un d’aquests canvis que s’està produint gira al voltant d’una de les tendències que s’està començant a implantar i a expandir dins del sistema educatiu: l’aprenentatge integrat de continguts i llengua estrangera (AICLE). Així doncs, l’objectiu d’aquest projecte és analitzar com nens i nenes d’Educació Infantil, concretament de cinc anys, aprenen i adquireixen aspectes de vocabulari i gramàtica a partir de la utilització d’un conte que permetrà la realització d’activitats dins d’un context AICLE. Per tal de realitzar l’estudi, es triarà un conte infantil i es realitzaran tres tests diferents: un abans de començar a treballar amb la història, un altre just després d’haver-la treballat i un altre un temps posterior a la realització de les activitats. A partir dels resultats extrets dels tests sobre tot el procés seguit se n’extrauran una sèrie de conclusions.

The society we live in is emerged in many constant changes which lead to new ways of doing. One of these changes nowadays goes around a new trend that is starting to be implemented and expanded inside the educative system: Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). Having said that, the objective of this study is to analyze how five year old children learn and acquire certain aspects of vocabulary and grammar through a story that will be worked inside a CLIL context. In order to carry out this project, a book will be chosen and three different tests will be carried out: a pre-test, a post-test and a delayed post-test. From the results of these tests and all the process followed, some conclusions will be drawn.
