Eficacia de la comunicación y relación terapéutica enfermera en el cuidado paliativo de las personas adultas en situación de final de vida

Abstract

INTRODUCCIÓN: el avance de la medicina ha hecho cambiar el modo en que las personas mueren y esto ha generado un cambio en las necesidades que presentan los pacientes. Ante los procesos de final de vida es importante que se traten los aspectos que van más allá del cuerpo y es a través de la comunicación y relación terapéutica como se consigue. OBJETIVOS: analizar la eficacia de la comunicación y relación terapéutica en los procesos de final de vida y los elementos que las favorecen y facilitan y las barreras que las dificultan. METODOLOGIA: se realizan 4 búsquedas bibliográficas en las bases de datos de referencia CINAHL, SCOPUS, DIALNET, CROCHANE, CUIDEN, SICIELO, BIOMED y PSYCH INFO desde noviembre de 2016 hasta el enero de 2017 sobre el papel de la comunicación y relación terapéutica en el cuidado paliativo al final de vida por parte de los profesionales de enfermería. RESULTADOS: factores como formación, experiencia y entorno parecen determinantes para el desarrollo de una adecuada comunicación y el establecimiento de una eficaz relación terapéutica. Factores personales propios (profesionales) y ajenos (pacientes y familia) influyen en su desarrollo y es necesario sean tenidos en cuenta delante cualquier intervención que realizamos. CONCLUSIONES: la eficacia en el desarrollo de la relación y comunicación terapéutica mejora el proceso que viven las personas al final de vida. Fomentar la formación e invertir en reducir las barreras es calve para favorecerlas y prestar la atención que el final de vida requiere.

INTRODUCTION: the advancement of medicine has changed the way in which people die and this has resulted in a change in the needs which patients present. When facing end-of-life processes, it is important that aspects which go beyond the body are addressed. This is achieved by means of communicating and establishing therapeutic relationships. OBJECTIVES: to analyze the effectiveness of therapeutic communication and relationships in the processes of end-of-life, the elements which favor and facilitate it, and the barriers which hinder it. METHODOLOGY: four bibliographic searches in CINAHL, SCOPUS DIALNET, CROCHANE, CUIDEN, SICIELO, BIOMED, and PSYCH INFO were performed between November 2016 until January 2017 on the role of therapeutic communication and relationships in palliative care at the end of life by nursing professionals. RESULTS: factors such as training, experience and environment seem to be essential for the development of an appropriate communication and for the establishment of an effective therapeutic relationship. Personal factors (professional) and others (patients and family) influence the development. It is necessary that they are taken into account before any intervention is performed. CONCLUSIONS: the effectiveness in development of the therapeutic communication and relationships improves the process through which people go at the end of life. Promoting training and investment in reducing the barriers is key to encourage them and pay them the required attention that the end of life requires.
